The Killer Dillers are a troupe of award-winning professional swing dancers drawn from across the globe, specializing in performance artforms of the jazz era. Aiming to bring back the spectacular style of song-and-dance entertainment from the golden age of show business, the Killer Dillers’ repertoire includes Lindy Hop, Charleston, Tap and a variety of other authentic vintage jazz dances, as well as comedy, acrobatics and burlesque.

MICHAEL JAGGER & EVITA ARCE

MICHAEL & EVITA will be teaching ADVANCED ROUTINES at CJDF

Evita and Michael, full time dancers in NYC, bring an exuberant energy and joy to every project, whether it’s teaching classes worldwide or performing in renown theaters. Their combined resumes span the globe from Dubai to the UK, Sweden to Australia! Evita and Michael were the featured Lindy Hop couple in the 2008 Japan Broadway tour of SWING!

They have performed at The Rose Theatre and The Kennedy Center with Wynton Marsalis and The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Commercials and other television appearances have popped up frequently for Evita and Michael since they advanced to finals in Las Vegas on season 3 of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance–the only Lindy Hop couple to do so.

Michael and Evita have won awards at several national Swing events, most notably their 1st place wins in the Cabaret Divisions at ALHC and ILHC. Michael and Evita are recognized for their ability to combine technical feats with phenomenal dancing and theatrical storytelling.

Currently, the two teach regular classes at Dance Manhattan and continue to travel the world. As teachers, Michael and Evita emphasize anatomy and efficient use of the body. Connecting movements and clearly projecting direction help create their lead and follow technique. Above all other descriptions, one will surely say that Michael and Evita are inspiring to watch and a possess a warm welcome to any student of Lindy Hop

 

   RICHARD POWERS

   Richard Powers is one of the world's foremost experts in American social dance.
   He has been researching and teaching contemporary and historic social dances for 32 years and is
   currently a full-time instructor at Stanford University.

A dance historian that is highly respected all over the world.  Richard will cover those dances rarely taught and provide lectures to broaden our dance knowledge...

 

MIKEY PEDROZA & NIKKI MARVIN
Since 1998, Mikey Pedroza has taken his perfect blend of ethereal grace and classic style to every performance, competition and instructional event through out the United States and the world. Coming out of the mean, but clean, streets of the Orange County, California, Mikey has earned acclaim for his hard edged, but playful, style of Lindy Hop & Classic Jazz Dance. Mikey’s passion for Lindy Hop can be seen on every social dance floor he walks on. Dancing every song to the fullest ability of his heart & soul.

Nikki Marvin is a woman of many talents. Wife, mother, and ATOMIC Ballroom owner by day, Champion Lindy Hopper by night!
She travels the world teaching, performing and competing with her partner Mikey Pedroza. Together they hold winnings from: National Jitterbug Championships, US Open Swing Dance Championships, World Swing Dance Championships, Boston Tea Party, Camp Jitterbug, Swing in the Colony, Lindy and Party Weekend, Rhythmic Arts Festival, Reno Dance Sensation, California Girl Jam and many other local competitions.

 

SHESHA MARVIN
Shesha Marvin is president of The Orange County Swing Dance Club and runs one of the most successful swing dance scenes in the country, teaching over 300 dancers a week and running 2 packed swing nights. He is also an avid tap dancer and is well known for his famous 101 hat tricks.

Shesha has performed and toured with Hot Stop and Rhythm, a local dance team headed by Audrey Wilson, and Hop Star, a national corporate dance troupe.

His movie and television work include dancing in The 13th Floor, Hang Time, The Teacher Awards and most recently was seen on Dancing with the Stars.

 

 

RUSTY FRANK
"Rusty literally wrote the book on tap.  Since it was first published in 1990, Rusty's critically-acclaimed "TAP! The Greatest Tap Dance Stars & Their Stories 1900-1955," has been called "the Tap bible" and "the blue book of Tap."  Growing up  in Los Angeles, Rusty had the opportunity to study with countless legendary Hollywood film choreographers and dancers from the Golden Era of movie musicals, including her mentors choreographers Louis DaPron and Miriam Nelson, and screen stars Fayard Nicholas (Nicholas Brothers) and Gene Nelson.  She owns On Tap through which she produces legacy dvds for tap and swing dance.  As a result of her on-going dance preservation work, Rusty Frank is the recipient of "The Tap Dance Preservation Award" from New York's American Tap Dance Foundation, The Historic Preservation Award from The Art Deco Society of California, and Tradition In Tap's award for Outstanding Achievements and Significant Contribution to the Art and Tradition of Tap Dance.

 

 

 

JEREMY OTTH & LAURA KEAT
Jeremy and Laura united to create this dynamic dance partnership in January of 2006. Since then, they have been accumulating Championship Titles, teaching all around the world, and even performed on ABC's hit TV Show, "Dancing With The Stars." Jeremy and Laura were each individually honored by the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame in 2008!

Jeremy and Laura have earned Championships at many National events such as: National Jitterbug Championships, American Lindy Hop Championships and the US Open to name a few. They won both first place titles at NJC (at Camp Hollywood) in Shag and Pro Balboa in 2008. They took 2nd in the American Classic Balboa Championships at All Balboa Weekend, were 3rd in the Champions Lindy at the International Lindy Hop Championships in 2008, and in 2007 were Fast Dance Lindy Hop Champions at the US Open! They travel to teach all across the United States and around the world both individually and as a couple, including jobs across the US, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Canada and Japan.

 

 

Johnny "Blue Jeans"

Johnny is the 2009 National Jitterbug Shag Champions.
He performs and teaches Collegiate Shag & Shagboa throughout San Francisco Bay Area and around the world! In 2009, he taught and performed in Montreal, Canada at the Montreal Balboa Revue.

Johnny has placed 2nd Place at the National Jitterbug Championships in 2007 & 2008 in the Pro Collegiate Shag Division.  Johnny also hosts the San Francisco Collegiate Shag Jam Championships in California.  He is the perfect instructor for our four SHAG tasters at CJDF!

 

 

 

 

NICK WILLIAMS & CARLA HEINEY

Nick and Carla are world class instructors and teach at many events...
We are proud to have them at the CJDF teaching Charleston, Lindy Routines, Lindy foundations, and an Aerial class.

Nick Williams is a Professional Dance Instructor who teaches, performs, competes, and choreographs the swing dances: Lindy Hop, Balboa, Bal-Swing, Charleston, Collegiate Shag, and several vernacular jazz routines.  Besides teaching all across the U.S., he travels the world to such destinations as Moscow, Korea, Australia, France, Sweden, Germany, and Spain.  He loves to spread the joy and passion he has for dancing and, in doing so, wishes to inspire others. 

Among many of her accomplishments, Carla has choreographed for Fox’s hit T.V. show, “So You Think You Can Dance” season 6 creating a routine for contestants Ryan & Ellenore. She is also the 2008 Camp Jitterbug Champion, Canadian Swing Dance Champion & International Lindy Hop Champion. She is also the 2007 National Jitterbug Champion, 2007 American Lindy Hop Champion, & 2006 US Open Showcase Champion. She has also won the US Open Lindy Showcase division with in 2001, 2002, 2004 and the US Open Strictly Lindy division in 2003. She is a 6 time American Lindy Hop Champion and the 2005 World Lindy Hop Champion in the Improvisational division.

 

VALERIE SALSTROM

Valerie will be helping us with the taster classes in Solo Charleston, the Shim Sham, and our favorite:  The Madison

One of America's busiest Lindy and Balboa teachers, Valerie has a reputation for her finesse on the dance floor. She emphasizes musicality and connection regardless of the style of swing. Since 2002 Valerie has taken home the 2003 National Jitterbug Championships (NJC) Grand Slam Championship, became both the 2004 NJC Balboa Champions and the 2004 American Lindy Hop Championships (ALHC) American Showcase Champions and most recently, (in 2005) she returned to ALHC to place 2nd in the same competition.

Valerie is the organizer of the 'All Balboa Weekend' held annually in her home town of Cleveland. This Weekend event first started in 2001 and was the first major dance camp dedicated solely to Balboa. It features the American Classic Balboa Championships (ACBC), one of the nations most respected and sought after Balboa competitions.

Valerie recently took 1st place with Jacob Wigger at Camp Hollywood 2011
