400 to have room for workshops.
Only 200 Leader tickets and 200 Follower tickets available.
LOCATIONS FOR WORKSHOPS:
The schedule in the
CASINO is considered
the main track of classes for all FULL WEEKEND participants.
All levels are welcome in the classes in the CASINO. Newer dancers may be
challenged for some class topics and the more
advanced dancers are encouraged to be helpful. Other venues are for specialty classes and
have limited space - please note
the LEVEL
when you sign up for classes.
BAR area is for a very
special 3 CLASS HAT TRICK series with Shesha and outstanding lectures from dance
historian Richard Powers to give your feet a break and your mind a workout!
MEZZANINE 1 & 2
(limit: 24
ppl/12 cpl) will be
special 'SEMI-PRIVATE' classes focusing on the FUNDAMENTALS of Swing Era dances.
You may want to take all the classes offered for one topic OR pop into one of
each. Every class will be different.
Topics available include:
* 4 TAP
* 4 COLLEGIATE SHAG
* 4 BALBOA
* 1 SHIM SHAM
* 4 SOLO CHARLESTON
* 1 MADISON
* 4 LINDY CHARLESTON
* 5 LINDY FUNDAMENTAL featured all day on Saturday
An amazing
opportunity to work with the instructors listed
in a small group setting at such a large event!
PERFECT FOR BEGINNER DANCERS and ANY LEVEL dancer wanting to perfect their
fundamentals.
STAGE (in the Avalon
Theatre, limit: 50 ppl / 25 cpl) will be for more INT/ADV/ADV+ topics and the
Gentleman's Jazz classes featuring
cane work with Nathan Bugh. Only the first 50 students are allowed on the
stage for class, others are welcome to sit
in the theatre to observe the class or try steps in the aisles.
TREMONT (limit: 50 ppl/25 cpl) located 'way up on the hill' will be for special topics listed, routines, and Women's Jazz.
GYM will be available on Sunday for more larger group classes - please note the level for the class.
If all that is not enough for
you, don't forget about the CASINO TOUR offered at special times during
the weekend
for you to learn the history of the amazing facility we are using for the
Catalina Jazz Dance Festival.
READ the schedule carefully to decide what classes are best for you and your
level.
REGISTER EARLY to make sure you can select the classes you want.
You will be asked when registering which classes you want to attend.
Once specialty classes are full you will be asked to simply select the CASINO
options for the weekend.
