A UNIQUE BALBOA EXPERIENCE...
HISTORY - dance where it all began and honor original Balboa dancers: 
   Your one chance a year to dance at the historic Balboa Pavilion on Balboa Peninsula
   The Rendezvous has the largest gathering of dancers from the 30s and 40s, with special Q&A session.
     BALBOA PAVILION HISTORY

EDUCATION - Balboa University is an instructional format to develop well-rounded dancers:
     A weekend with a variety of open-minded instructors to offer different techniques and skills.
     IN CLASS INSTRUCTORS are utilized for students to have personal feedback in class.
     INSTRUCTOR WORKSHOPS are provided to enhance the skills of current & future teachers of Balboa.

COMPETITIONS - featuring the International Balboa Championship (IBC):
     The IBC requires competitors to display sills in Pure Balboa, Bal-Swing, and Showmanship to win The Rendezvous Cup.
     Other competitions include:  Amateur Jack & Jill, Open Jack & Jill, Amateur Couples, and Charleston Challenge
     Competition will only take 30min each evening to allow for more classes/education and optimal social dancing
         
PROFESSIONAL - offer the highest quality experience for everyone attending:
     All weekend events will run as scheduled allowing you time to eat, shower, and relax
     The best venues, bands, and down to earth teachers are booked to create a unique experience
     LIVE BANDS are booked to experience a real dance experience
     The Rendezvous is not over-sold to allow plenty of space at the dances and especially the workshops.

A lot of work has gone into creating this special event with these goals in mind for all of you.
Who knew after creating the first All Balboa Weekend in Cleveland, OH, with Valerie Salstrom in 2001 that the dance and
full weekend workshops for Balboa would grow to where it is today?
